Rex Ryan on 2016 IMPACT25 honoree Kathryn Smith

Rex Ryan
Ryan is in his second season as head coach of the Buffalo Bills. Prior to 2015, he served as head coach of the New York Jets for six seasons.

I think the big thing with Kathryn is, first off, she had done a lot of these roles previously. I never thought it was an issue at all. I knew she would do the job, and she could handle it.

Quality control coaches are some of the hardest workers on the team. You're doing things when everybody else might be going home -- you're still working. But that's what she has shown, all throughout the time that I have known her. She has an unbelievable work ethic. She gets it. She is detailed. She understands the importance of her job. That's why I thought she would do a good job.

And on the field, I think the players respect the fact that she is knowledgeable -- she knows what she's doing -- and so when she tells you to do something, you can believe it, and you can trust it. I think that's what the players appreciate about her.
